Day 5: Stop Treating Network Marketing Like A Business

Welcome to Day 5 of Pinoy Network Marketing EXPOSED!

Have you ever been told to treat your MLM or network marketing opportunity like a business?

Or maybe YOU are the upline who tells your downlines to treat network marketing like a business…

Your intention behind telling your business partner to treat it like a business is actually to tell them to take it seriously and not treat it like a hobby, correct?

Because of low-capital investment in network marketing, network marketers tend to NOT take MLM seriously.  It may take a while for most before doing the business seriously, if they ever do reach that point.

open for businessMore people treat it like a hobby and only do it when it’s most convenient for them, when they feel like doing it or when the weather is perfect.  And the easiest thing to do when things get tough is to quit.

So, how in the world will you ‘convince’ your downlines to treat network marketing like a business?

Stop telling them to treat it like a business.

Why?

Well, most Filipinos have never had a business and have no idea how to treat a ‘thing’ like a business.  Most of us come from an average background and are programmed to do what?

  • Go to school
  • Get good grades
  • Get a good job
  • Work hard
  • Work harder
  • Climb the corporate ladder
  • Retire with a big lump sum

Most of us were programmed like this, to work at a job and not build a business.

When you tell your downline to treat it like a business, they have no idea what you’re talking about and don’t have any personal experience to relate that to.  So, stop telling them that and tell them instead to treat it like a job.  That… they can better relate to.

Come to think of it…

When people have a job or when you have a job, you get up from bed even if all you want to do is sleep.  You report to work even if you hate the boss.  You sometimes report to work even if you’re sick to make sure that you make enough money to pay the bills and make a living.  Come rain or shine, you’re there at work!

If you tell your downline that this network marketing business requires the same type of commitment that is given towards a job, I believe that would be more effective and it’s something that they would better understand.

Furthermore, make sure to tell them (and yourself) that the difference in network marketing is that you’re not just making a living but designing a TOTALLY different life.

So, from now on, don’t treat it like a business.  Instead, treat it like a job, ok?
